It’s incredulous how fast this year is going. May is here and before we know it, Summer will be in full swing. Lately, I’ve been trying to use up as many beauty products, ranging from 3-6 products a month. This has helped me rediscover some products in my kit, as well as make room for future purchases. In the month of April, I found myself reaching for some of my favorites that I would re-purchase, and others not so much. Below I listed my empties for the month of April.
Feel free to share your April empties!
Bath &Body Works Fragrance Mist in Paris Amour and Carried Away
Hi Dolls!!! I missed you all so much, it feels like I haven’t posted in forever! This post is long over due, since I took my trip to Atlanta, Georgia, the beginning of April, and it’s now May (covers face). I had an amazing time in Atlanta with my family! Not only did I stuff my face with food from some of the best restaurants ATL had to offer, but I visited places like The King Center ,The Aquarium, Lenox Square, and brought back some goodies that I wanted to show you all.
TooFaced Chocolate Palette– Sephora $49 Chanel Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Translucent #3– Macys $45 Essence Effect Nails Glitters in Call Me Galaxy & Miss Blue Eyes– Ulta $3 each
This is one of my very first Nars creme blush purchases. To be quite honest, I have a love/hate relationship with creme blushes. I purchased this blush on sale for $10 from Sephora.com. I hardly ever wear creme blush, butif I do decide to, I prefer to wear creme blush in the Winter. Just from swatching the blush, I can’t wear this product as a blush, it’s better used as a highlighter on my complexion. But, if used as a blush, it works well as a base for a powder blush. In all honesty, I would not re-purchase this product. There are other creme blushes Nars offers that would compliment my skin-tone, and don’t require much work like this one. I definitely can’t wait to try other creme blushes that are WOC friendly from the Nars brand.
I was a bit skeptical of this foundation at first, since I’ve never tried any Clinique products before, and I was afraid I would breakout, due to my sensitive skin. To my surprise my skin reacted well to this foundation. I wore it for 3 consecutive days for 8 hours, and not one pimple appeared. In addition, when wearing this foundation, my skin can still breath, and I didn’t have a tad bit of shine throughout the day. I have 2 shades pictured, because the woman at the Clinique counter didn’t match me correctly. The Spice shade was too red and dark for my complexion. So, I returned it and got the next shade lower from Spice, which is Golden. It’s a PERFECT MATCH! This foundation is suitable for those with oily/combination skin. I believe I’ve found my ultimate favorite foundation for everyday-wear. The best $23 spent!
I really like this concealer for travel use, and for on the go. It glides onto the skin, and is a very good color match. In addition, it last all day with the help of a setting powder, and conceals nicely. However, I won’t repurchase this concealer, for the simple fact of it having a small amount of product, and the price. I’m sure there are some alternatives that many other brands offer. Let my discovery begin!
Ladies and Gents, this concelaer is a Holy Grail staple for me. This concealer goes above and beyond, by concealing under-eye circles, and creating a luminous and flawless finish. The sales associate at Sephora urged me to get it, so I went out on a limb and I’m glad I did. I apply this product: under my eyes, down the center of my nose, and my forehead. I then set it with a setting powder (2 shades lighter than my skin tone) to achieve a highlighted effect. This concealer is great for any skin type, and there are 10 shades to choose from. I will definitely re-purchase this product.
