The Mystic’s Gaze Makeup Look

A few weeks ago, I did a post on some items I purchased from the L’Oreal Project Runway Electric Fantasie collection. I love this collection so much, and wanted to complete an entire look using all products.
My desired item from the collection is the eyeshadow palette, which comprise fun pigmented colors for any season. This look was perfect while attending the Latin Food & Wine Festival. During the festival, I was able to taste diverse dishes from many Latin countries, and take pleasure in live music, and delicious drinks. I had such a great time that I plan on going to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival.

Christina Aguilera- Your Body Makeup Look

Platinum bombshell Christina Aguilera is back with a new single & video titled, “Your Body”, from her 7th forthcoming album “Lotus”, which will hit stores next month.

In the video, Christina is a sexy, man-eating heroine. Might I add, her shoes in the video are mouth drooling: Christian Louboutin, Olcay Gulsen, and Ruthie Davis to name a few. Aside from her fabulous footwear, her makeup team didn’t miss a beat. Christina wore a neutral smokey eye, with thick, elongated lashes (top & bottom), paired with a bold red lip. Her face is contoured and highlighted to the max! This look screamed DIVA, so I had to re-create the look. For those who prefer a natural look, can opt for natural-looking lashes, no lashes on the bottom, and substitute the red lipstick for a nude lipstick. I listed all the products used below.

MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection Part 2

Hey Dolls,
I wanted to give you the tea on my newest Marilyn Monroe additions. As you know from my last post, I disliked the Legendary blush, so I decided to give “The Perfect Cheek “blush a try. It wasn’t easy trying to get this blush in my possession.

My good friend and SA held the blush especially for me at Nordstrom, until I could find a convenient time to make the trip (3 days later). After hearing great things about this blush on the MAC forum (Specktra.net), I was exultant to get my hands on it! I would describe this blush as a light, soft, neutral, pink-beige, with a matte finish. Unlike the Legendary blush, this blush melts into the skin when applied .It has light color pay-off, and gives a natural flush to the cheeks. Although, it isn’t anything spectacular, I will be keeping this blush “just for the packaging”.

In addition to my newest blush, is my “Pure Zen” lipstick. In all honesty, I thought I was doomed, because everywhere was sold out of the collection. However, my lovely sister made an effort by getting the last lipstick at a MAC store 45mins away. This lipstick is a frosted, warm nude, with an opaque cremesheen finish. I would on average wear this lipstick on a everyday basis, and at night pair it with smokey eyes for a party time look. Although it’s not the lipstick I initially wanted, I am thrilled to own it. I would have loved to get my hands on Love Goddess, but I’m already looking forward to the Holiday collection.

Product Review: MAC Marilyn Monroe Legendary Blush

I was ecstatic when I found out MAC was releasing a Marilyn Monroecollection. I first heard about the collection in July, and later received an invitation to the Marilyn Monroe Exhibition at my local MAC store.

I didn’t make it to the exhibition, due to work. Needless to say, I had my mind made up to purchase EVERYTHING, because I tend to choose packaging over the actual product *sigh *. The packaging is so adorable, showcasing a classic black & white photo of a young Marilyn on the box, and embossed on the collection items. How could I resist?!

Last week was the release of the collection exclusively online. When I got to the MAC site, I noticed majority of everything was SOLD OUT. A desperate me wanted something/anything, so of course I bought what was still available. My purchase ended up being the “Legendary blush”. Feeling a bit apprehensive, because I never got a chance to do any swatches, I hoped the blush would complement my skin-tone. Well, yesterday my blush made it’s way safely to my doorstep. When I looked at the blush, I seriously had a knot in my stomach; I knew this was going to look terrible on me. I swatched the blush, and as you can see it appears ashy on my skin tone, and it gets worse the more you build it. Nonetheless, I feel this blush is conducive for women of fair complexion. In addition, the blush is so stiff on the skin, when using my duo fiber blush brush, or any of my blush brushes. This blush is making its way back to the MAC store (pronto), because I just can’t deal. I was hoping to exchange my pasty white blush for the “Perfect cheek blush”, or a lipstick on Thursday in store. Until then, I’ll keep you dolls posted.

L’Oreal Project Runway Electric Fantasie Collection

I can’t begin to tell you all, how long I’ve been anticipating the new Loreal Project Runway Collection. One year ago, L’Oreal released their first Project Runway Collection, titled “Take Flight”.

I only scored a quad eyeshadow palette from the collection. This year L’Orea’sl Newest LE collection, “Electric Fantasie” features 4 different looks: The Enchanted Queen, The Artsy Muse,The Wise Mystic, and The Seductive Temptress. Each look features a blush, lipgloss, eyeshadow quad, lipstick, and 2 nail polishes. Many of the colors are neutrals, grays, plums, and corals. I made my way to my local Ulta store to take advantage of the Buy 2,get 1 free deal. After debating each product from the collection, I made my decision to purchase a lipstick, blush, and an eyeshadow quad.

Top Left- The Artsy Muse
Top Right-The Enchanted Queen
Bottom Left- The Wise Mystic
Bottom Right- The Seductive Temptress

  • The Temptress’s blush (0.35oz/10g) is similar to Nars Dolce Vita, but with a slight gold sheen finish, and light color payoff.
  • The Mystic’s Kiss lipstick is nothing similar to anything I own, but it is a deep purple with pink reflects. To achieve the same exact tube color, you will definitely need to build the color.
  •  The Mystic’s Gaze eyeshadow quad (0.16oz/4.8g) contains all shimmer colors, except for the light blue, which is a bit stiff. I would recommend using a sticky blue base to get this color to show up.

I have to say; I like this collection better than the first Project Runway Collection. Remember, this is a limited edition collection, so when it’s gone, IT’S GONE!

This collection can be found at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, AND Ulta.

Will you be making any purchases from this collection?
