Summer-time Blues Makeup Look

There’s been an outbreak of thunderstorms here in Orlando in the past week, causing me to revise my plans that don’t involve the outdoors. I’m naturally a homebody, so I normally find things to do around the house *painting, reading, and playing in makeup *. Although it’s gray and yucky outside, I wanted to create a bright Spring/Summer makeup look for you all.

The inspiration from this look stemmed from a bouquet of flowers, I received from a friend. Whenever she feels she has to many flowers, she tends to send them my way. Orchids, sunflowers, and tulips are just a few of flowers I received. Might I add, they look lovely on my patio. In all honesty, I’m terribly bad at taking care of flowers, but with all the rain, I haven’t had to water them yet 😉

Overall Thoughts:

I believe I’ve found my Holy Grail mascara. I’ve been on this journey for so long, and it feels great to finally bring this journey to a halt. I found my Holy Grail mascara in my local Wal-Mart, so I didn’t have to break bank. Besides the fact that it’s waterproof mascara, the tiny brush does justice for my mulish lashes. The mini brush allows you to get from root to tip, from corner to corner, and hard to reach lashes. I can in fact manage to elongate each lash, including my bottom lashes.  I apply 2 coats, or sometimes 3, and I NEVER get clumping. And the best part, it last ALL DAY! I found out about this mascara in my Elle Magazine, on page 112 chosen as a favorite by one celebrity makeup artist. Little did I know, this mascara has been around for a while, and I just so happen to find it. I have to thank Elle Magazine for featuring this mascara, it is without doubt a winner!

What is your favorite mascara?

Rihanna- Where Have You Been Makeup Look

Happy Friday! I’m convinced many of us are aware that Rihanna is back with another hit song called, “ Where Have You Been”. This song has taken over  radio stations all over the nation.
I can’t tell you how many times, I have left this song on repeat on my Ipod. This obscenely catchy song takes up permanent residence in the back of my mind. I find myself dancing and singing the lyrics while doing regular tasks around the house. I was excited to find out Rihanna released the video for the smash single, and I got the chance to watch the video on my lunch break at work. The video has everything: erotic sceneries, dancing, and sexy costumes. And most importantly Rihanna has three different dramatic makeup looks in the video. One particular look that stood out to me was the red smoky eye, paired with a nude lip. I’ve owned red eyeshadow for some time now, but never really used it, aside from Halloween *shrugs *, so it was fun to use it for this look. I decided to not do the exact same eyebrows like Rihanna, because I wanted this look to be subtle, and the eyebrows just seemed a bit much. I had fun creating this look, and feel free to let me know, if you want me to recreate some of your favorite celebrity looks.
